Donald Trump Signs Executive Order to Slash NPR and PBS Budgets


Both broadcasters vow to defend their reporting.

President Trump signed an executive order on May 1 aiming to halt federal funding to PBS and NPR, alleging “bias” in the news organizations’ reporting. “Neither entity presents a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens,” the executive order states, per the White House.
