Donald Trump Confirms He Will Attend Republican National Convention on Monday: ‘I Will Be Leaving for Milwaukee, as Scheduled’

Donald Trump has confirmed he will be attending the GOP convention after an assassination attempt on Saturday at his campaign rally.

He wrote, “Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a “shooter,” or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else. Trump was struck in the ear by a bullet at a rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday, after a gunman opened fire outside the venue, the U.S. Secret Service said. Following the shooting and assassination attempt, The Secret Service “neutralized” the shooter, who is dead, agency spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement.
