Donald Sutherland fans remember his iconic Simpsons guest role in 1996 - as late star is praised for 'truly memorable portrayal' of museum curator - after his death aged 88


Sutherland appeared in the season seven episode Lisa the Iconoclast, playing Springfield historian Hollis Hurlbut.

Sutherland died Thursday in Miami after suffering a long illness, his talent agency CAA told The Hollywood Reporter; pictured 2018 I'll always remember Donald Sutherland for his EXCELLENT and highly memorable guest appearance on The Simpsons as the wonderful one-off character Hollis Hurlbut. His most recent appearance came last year as Judge Parker in Lawmen: Bass Reeves, and he was set to star in upcoming apocalyptic flick Heart Land, which is in pre-production.
