Dolly Parton Speaks Out After Death of Husband Carl Dean: ‘I Will Always Love You’

Dolly Parton spoke out after the death of her husband, Carl Dean. See what she said.

In a message posted to her Instagram Thursday (March 6) — about three days after she first revealed the Nashville businessman’s passing at the age of 82 — the country superstar wrote, “This is a love note to family, friends and fans.” The “9 to 5” singer shared the news on Instagram that day, requesting privacy for her family in a statement, and noting that her husband would be laid to rest in a private ceremony. “I don’t remember what it was playing, but it was loud and it was rock ‘n roll,” she said, noting that she dedicated her album Rockstar to her partner because he “always loved” the genre.
