Dolly Parton Announces Visual and Musical Project ‘Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables’

Dolly Parton will release the musical and visual project 'Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables' on November 15.

Singer-songwriter Dolly Parton performs onstage at "Dollyverse Powered By Blockchain Creative Labs on Eluv.io" during the 2022 SXSW Conference And Festival at ACL Live at The Moody Theater on March 18, 2022 in Austin, Texas. The Parton and Owens families — her father’s and mother’s, respectively — will serve as the focal point for the project as they trace their “origins from the United Kingdom in the 1600s to their home today in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee,” according to the release. The docuseries will dig deeper into the roots of this, with a particular focus on Parton’s grandfather, Reverend Jake Owens, who is credited with anchoring a deep connection to faith, music, and family values in their collective.
