Does ‘The Bear’ Cast Think Their Show Is a Comedy?
Jeremy Allen White and other cast members weighed in on whether the Hulu show is a comedy or drama after the 2023 Emmys.
Jeremy Allen White, who plays Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto enthusiastically said, “Yes!” when asked by reporters whether he considers the Hulu series a comedy, per Deadline. Executive producer Josh Senior, meanwhile, explained that The Bear’s half-hour run time helps it fit the constraints of the category but noted he’s more concerned about making viewers feel something. The costars met on set in 2022 while filming the FX series, which follows a chef named Carmy (White) as he returns to Chicago to run his older brother Mikey’s restaurant following his death.
