Doechii Shrugs Off Met Gala Controversy: ‘God Forbid a Girl Needs More Umbrellas’

Doechii responded to criticism following a viral video from the 2025 Met Gala in which she can be heard demanding more umbrellas to cover her outfit.

A post from Pop Crave sharing the video — with the caption “Doechii is being accused of “mistreating” her assistants during the Met Gala ” — has racked up 109,000 likes. “Doechii was cussing everybody out over a mediocre outfit but we’re the ones overreacting for thinking she was being disrespectful,” another X user shared in response as debates formed around whether or not the musician was excessively rude. Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director, served as co-chair alongside Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and Lewis Hamilton.
