Doechii Joins Ms. Lauryn Hill for Epic ‘Doo Wop (That Thing)’ Duet

The Grammy Award winning rapper reached a career milestone over the weekend when Ms. Lauryn Hill invited her onstage for a surprise duet of “Doo Wop (That Thing).”The memorable moment occurred during Hill’s headlining set at the Jazz in the Gardens Festival at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on March 8. Doechii held her own alongside the hip-hop legend, delivering her verses with energy and reverence as the crowd roared in approval. And just last week, fans were treated to an official drop of “Anxiety.” The track, originally an unreleased cut from a few years ago, features a notable sample of Gotye ’s 2011 hit “Somebody That I Used to Know.” After gaining traction on TikTok, the buzz led Doechii and her TDE label to officially release the full version on streaming platforms.
