Doechii Condemns ‘Ruthless’ ICE Raids in Los Angeles
“People are being swept up and torn from their families.”
During her acceptance speech for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 25th BET Awards, Doechii took a moment to acknowledge the background of the city of Los Angeles leading up to the ceremony tonight. Over the weekend, ICE agents invaded the city and raided local businesses, and hundreds of people protested against the deportation of migrants. In response, President Trump sent the National Guard to Los Angeles to stop the protesters, against the wishes of Governor Gavin Newsom and Mayor Karen Bass.
