Documentary on New Yorker Magazine to Premiere on Netflix This Year

A new Netflix documentary, directed by Marshall Curry, will look at the inner workings of the prestigious New Yorker magazine.

Marshall Curry, director of documentaries including “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night” and “Street Fight,” is directing, also serving as producer with Xan Parker. “I’ve been a reader of the magazine for most of my life, and it’s been thrilling to get to peek behind the curtain and witness the precision, thought and almost fanatical obsession that goes into crafting their stories, cartoons, and covers,” said Curry. The magazine is observing its 100 years in publishing with events including a new collection of its best fiction due Feb. 28, an exhibit at the New York Public Library opening Feb. 22 and a screening series at Film Forum featuring movies based on New Yorker stories and reporting.
