DJ Unk, ‘Walk It Out’ and ‘2 Step’ Rapper, Dies at 43
DJ Unk, the snap music rapper behind the hits 'Walk It Out' and '2 Step,' has died. He was 42.
“It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a true ATL legend, Anthony Platt better known as ‘DJ Unk,'” reads a statement reshared to Oomp’s Instagram Stories. In Aug. 2009, Unk suffered a heart attack, which he blamed on a combination of nonstop touring, poor eating habits, and drinking and smoking. Unk’s music output trickled in the years that followed, with a few one-off singles and a full-length titled “Fresh Off Dem Papers” that dropped in 2017.
