Bob Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, are closing in on an investment in Angel City FC in a deal that would make the pro soccer team the most valuable franchise in women’s professional sports. Natalie Portman is one of its three co-founding partners and smaller investors have included Williams, Billie Jean King, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria and former U.S. national team standouts Mia Hamm, Shannon Boxx and Julie Foudy. Angel City FC plays its NWSL home games at BMO Stadium, in the USC campus area south of downtown LA.
