Disgraced movie moghul Harvey Weinstein rushed to hospital for 'emergency heart surgery'

Harvey Weinstein, 72, has been rushed to hospital for emergency heart surgery, after suffering from chest pains while being held at Rikers Island Jail in New York

Harvey was supposed to attend a New York court hearing this week, where more evidence was scheduled for presentation in a push for fresh sex crimes charges by prosecutors against the former film producer. However, these convictions were overturned this year when an appellate court ruled that the judge had biased the jury by allowing women to testify about sexual harassment and assault allegations not related to the case being heard. Regardless of the outcome of the retrial, the ex-Miramax boss won't be released as he is also serving a 16-year sentence after being found guilty on three counts of sexual assault in a Los Angeles court.
