Y Tu Mamá También put Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna on the Hollywood map more than two decades ago, but the two Mexican-born actors go back even further. Bernal, 45, stars as Esteban, or the titular “La Máquina,” a longtime boxing champion, and Luna portrays his ambitious appearance-obsessed manager. Luna’s credits include playing Cassian Andor in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the Disney+ prequel series Andor, and Bernal won a Golden Globe in 2016 for best performance by an actor in a TV series (musical or comedy) for his stirring portrayal of orchestra conductor Rodrigo De Souza in the Prime Video show Mozart in the Jungle.
