Dick Van Dyke cancels an upcoming public appearance at the FanX event in Salt Lake City
After Dick Van Dyke lost his long-time partner Michelle Triola Marvin after 35 years together, he found another chance at romance with Arlene Silver. This cancellation comes after Van Dyke skipped the 2024 Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 15, despite being tapped by ABC and the Television Academy as one of the show’s many celebrity presenters. Speaking with reporters at the time, Van Dyke shared that he would want to be remembered “for laughter” and “making people laugh for 75 years.” He added, joking, “I’ve been in the business for 75 years, I can’t believe it, that I’m still here and performing!
