Diane Warren Remains Resilient After 16th Oscar Loss for Best Original Song: ‘I’ll Be Back’

Diane Warren took her 16th Oscar loss in stride, saying 'I'll be back"; she was nominated for 'The Journey' sung by H.E.R. in 'The Six Triple Eight.'

Warren’s other notable Oscar-nominated original songs include Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” from Up Close and Personal and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing” from Armageddon. The Six Triple Eight, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, pulls from the first and only all-female army crew of color, the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, to serve in Europe during World War II. Kerry Washington stars as Major Charity Adams, the troop’s commander, alongside cast members Milauna Jackson, Kylie Jefferson, Shanice Shantay, and Sarah Jeffery.
