Her latest nomination is for the end credits song “The Journey” from Tyler Perry’s Netflix movie The Six Triple Eight performed by H.E.R. Starring Kerry Washington, The Six Triple Eight tells the story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, an all-Black battalion of the US Women’s Army Corps assigned the daunting task of sorting through and delivering thousands of pieces of mail between soldiers and their families during World War II.
