Designer Roberto Cavalli Dead at 83
Roberto Cavalli died on Friday, April 12, at his home in Florence, Italy

Cavalli famously believed that “excess is success,” and championed maximalism in his collections with the use of animal prints, vibrant patterns, jewel embellishments and bold colors. “When you wake up in the morning you say, ‘What do I have to wear to look beautiful, fantastic, sexy, special?’ That is the reason I love being a fashion designer because I can use it to measure your mood, your life.”
