Derryn Hinch reveals he died on operating table during liver transplant: 'I should have carked it'
Australian media icon Derryn Hinch has revealed that he was clinically dead while on an operating table.
Speaking to the Herald Sun over the weekend as he approaches his 80th birthday, Hinch expressed his gratitude for each day, since nearly losing his life during a liver transplant in 2011. Hinch credits the family's generosity for keeping him alive for another decade and had hoped to repair the tattered relationship before the ten-year anniversary of the transplant in 2021. Hinch said his cancer diagnosis in 2010 changed his outlook to start living his life to the absolute fullest for the remaining time he had left.
