Depeche Mode are gearing up to release a full-length feature film chronicling the band’s massive 2023 shows in Mexico City on their Memento Mori tour. The movie promises to mix footage from the three sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol Stadium in September 2023 to explore the parallels between the themes on the long-running goth rock band’s 15th album, Memento Mori(Latin for “remember that you must die”) with the “deep connection to death and mortality in Mexican culture.” Though the triumphant outing was a career high for the band, singer Dave Gahan said in December that he and co-founder guitarist/keyboardist Martin Gore were not focused on recording new music at the moment.
