Democratic National Convention To Stream On TikTok, Instagram & YouTube
The convention will be streamed for the first time on TikTok.
The convention starts on Monday in Chicago, with the first night expected to feature President Joe Biden, and other speakers through the week including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton. Alex Hornbrook, the executive director of the Democratic National Convention Committee, said in a statement, “With more and more Americans consuming their news in new and innovative ways, Democrats stand ready to meet them where they are – and to bring our vision for a brighter future to households all across the country.” Many of the lawmakers attending the convention also backed legislation this year to force TikTok parent ByteDance to divest the social media platform, or face a ban on app stores.
