Delroy Lindo Gets Candid About His Oscar Snub for Da 5 Bloods: 'I Was Profoundly Disappointed'

Delroy Lindo admitted he felt 'profoundly disappointed' he did not receive a nomination for his 2020 Spike Lee movie 'Da 5 Bloods.' Said the actor, 'If so much of the press were saying, 'This guy's going to get nominated,' and it didn't happen, there's probably a reason for that.'

The actor, who has been working in Hollywood since 1974, told Entertainment Weekly in an interview published Thursday, April 17, that he began to think of his performance in director Spike Lee's 2020 Vietnam War movie as a potential awards contender "because everybody else was talking about it" during the press tour. The movie follows a group of Vietnam War veterans who return to the country decades later to search for the remains of their dead squad leader and a buried treasure they'd hid. Now, he costars alongside Jordan, 38, newcomer Miles Caton, Hailee Steinfeld and more in director Ryan Coogler's Sinners, playing a blues musician in 1932 Mississippi who comes into contact with a vampire.
