Debi Mazar Turned Down A Role In ‘The Wedding Singer’ And Still Regrets It
It was the role of a lifetime, but Debi Mazar turned it down.
Mazar said she passed on playing the supporting role of Holly Sullivan, cousin to female lead Julia. “I wanted to do The Wedding Singer, and I got the part, and I was so excited because I really was such a huge fan of Adam [Sandler],” Mazar explained in a video call with host Drew Barrymore with guests Christine Taylor and David Lascher. Mazar turned it down “only because my agent told me, ‘Just, just hang on, don’t do it,'” and Taylor was cast as Holly.
