Deadline is proud to launch its new International Grand Tour series which will kick off with Bleecker Street ’s Hard Truths, the latest feature from legendary British filmmaker Mike Leigh. Hard Truths, which is being released nationwide in the U.S. on January 10, sees Leigh return to the contemporary world with a fierce, compassionate, and often darkly humorous study of family and the thorny ties that bind us. It’s an expansive film from a master dramatist that takes audiences into the intensities of kinship, duty, and the most enduring of human mysteries: that even through lifetimes of hurt and hardship, we still find ways to love those we call family.
