Zurich and Berlin-based distrib DCM has acquired Ali Abbasi’s Donald Trump film “The Apprentice” ahead of its May 20 world premiere in Cannes.

Zurich and Berlin-based distrib DCM has nabbed Ali Abbasi ’s “The Apprentice” ahead of its May 20 world premiere in Cannes, where its screening in competition. Bauermeister, who most recently served as executive vice president of business and legal affairs at Studiocanal and before that held a leadership role at Kinowelt, takes over from DCM founding partners Dario Suter, Christoph Daniel, Marc Schmidheiny and Joel Brandeis, who have overseen the company since its establishment in 2008. “I am delighted to be taking on a role that seems tailor-made for me: working together with the four company founders and their dynamic team, who have courageously and creatively established their place in the film industry and are now ready for the next step in growth,” said Bauermeister.
