Dawn Porter To Produce Film Short For Democratic National Convention
The filmmaker produced a short on the life of John Lewis for the 2020 convention.
Porter posted on Instagram last week a photo with Biden and the message, “Thank you for your dedication to public service Mr. President. Porter’s recent work includes directing the documentary Luther: Never Too Much, about Luther Vandross, and set to premiere next year on CNN, OWN and Max; Power of the Dream, the story of women’s basketball players who took on a WNBA team owner to rally behind Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA); and Cirque du Soleil: Without a Net. In 2020, Porter directed and produced the feature documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble, along with a short on the civil rights leader that was shown at the convention that year.
