David Tennant has been criticized after the Doctor Who actor told British equalities minister Kemi Badenoch to “shut up” because he disagrees with her views on trans rights. “A rich, lefty, white male celebrity so blinded by ideology he can’t see the optics of attacking the only black woman in government by calling publicly for my existence to end.” The Harry Potter author also shared a post from journalist Hadley Freeman, who wrote: “In the name of kindness and supporting the vulnerable, white man says he hopes black woman soon no longer exists.”
