David Spade and Theo Von to Star in Buddy Comedy ‘Busboys’

David Spade and Theo Von will star in and produce a buddy comedy titled 'Busboys,' which they self-financed.

Jonah Feingold (“At Midnight,” “Dating & New York,” “EXmas”) will direct “Busboys,” which is also produced by Robert Ogden Barnum alongside Spade and Von. Spade, who became a household name during his stint as a “Saturday Night Live” cast member, has also starred in comedies such as “Joe Dirt,” “Grown Ups” and “The Wrong Missy.” He was also in the sitcoms “Rules of Engagement” and “8 Simple Rules.” He received an Emmy nomination for his role as Dennis Finch on “Just Shoot Me.” Now, he is a touring stand-up comedian who co-hosts the “Fly on the Wall” and “Superfly” podcasts with Dana Carvey. His guests have included everyone from comedians Shane Gillis and Nikki Glaser to non-celebrities such as a mall cop and school lunch lady.
