David Schwimmer Says He Couldn’t Listen to ‘Friends’ Theme Song After Leaving Show: ‘I Didn’t Have the Greatest Response to It’
Schwimmer revealed that, having heard the 'Friends' theme so many times, he 'didn't have the greatest response to it'
Speaking on the new podcast by Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the star revealed that hearing the theme — performed by The Rembrandts and released as a single in 1995 — across 10 seasons of the hit show and beyond had been more than enough. “I’ll be really honest, there was a time for quite a while that just hearing the theme song would really… ” he explained, unable to describe the feeling. I don’t really go back and revisit,” he said, adding that he only started re-watching the show once his daughter Cleo “discovered it around age 9 or something.”
