David Mamet blasts efforts to increase diversity in showbusiness as 'fascist totalitarianism': 'That's just intrusive'


While promoting his memoir, Everywhere An Oink Oink, at the LA Times Festival of Books, Mamet described the push for DEI - diversity, equity, and inclusion - in films as 'fascist totalitarianism.'

Mamet - who penned the films House of Games and Wag the Dog - called the insistence for increased representation of communities who have struggled to break into the industry as 'intrusive.' Films hoping to win Best Picture will have to hire more black, female, LGBT or disabled cast and crew or address themes that affect those communities. Zosia, 36, recently starred in Sony's hit film Madame Web featuring Dakota Johnson where she played Amaria, a tech savvy assistant.
