Following news of the reunion sequel series pilot order, Henrie shared a photo of himself alongside Gomez and their other cast members, including Alkaio Thiele, Janice Brown, and Mimi Gianopulos. “Let’s make some [magic wand emoji],” Henrie wrote on Instagram Stories in the photo that also included writer and producer Scott Thomas and director Andy Fickman. The series “picks up after a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife and two sons.
