The actor, 59, has struggled with hearing loss for decades and decided to incorporate his personal experience into his role after consulting with the show’s creators and producers. The landmark HBO series introduced the world to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) back in 1998.
