David Copperfield Accused of Drugging, Grooming, and Groping Numerous Women
The magician’s lawyers say he “never, ever acted inappropriately with anyone.”
Lawyers for Copperfield, who is considered one of the highest-earning illusionists of all time, denied all the allegations, telling TheGuardian he “never, ever acted inappropriately with anyone, let alone anyone underage.” She later had sex with him when she turned 18 and began a relationship she calls “consensual” with “a huge power and financial imbalance.” Some of Copperfield’s former assistants also confirmed he was interested in young women and would target them at shows. One, Fallon Thornton, filed a police report in Las Vegas in January 2014, after claiming Copperfield grabbed her breast onstage at the MGM Grand, where he still performs today.
