David Beckham Says ‘It Wasn’t Easy’ to Convince Victoria Beckham to Do Her Own Netflix Docuseries, but It’s ‘Really Special’: ‘It’s So Emotional and the Drama’s Real’
David Beckham was speaking to Netflix's head of content Bela Bejaria at the inaugural MIP London in the event's headline spot.
However, the former soccer star turned Inter Miami FC co-owner and — most recently — Emmy-winning producer confessed that it took a while to convince Victoria to get on board. Directed by “Becoming” helmer Nadia Hallgren, the as-yet-untitled series started production in August and will follow Beckham’s journey from Spice Girls superstardom in the ‘90s to modern fashion maven. Other productions from Studio 99 include the Disney+ series “Save Our Squad,” plus “Edge of Everything” about snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan and an upcoming documentary about the history and rivalry between sports brands Adidas and Puma.
