David Beckham gifts Idris Elba a personalised Inter Miami shirt as British star watches MLS side beat rivals Atlanta United 2-1

The latest Inter Miami match came down to The Wire on Saturday - quite literally, as British star Idris Elba made an appearance at Fort Lauderdale's Chase Stadium.

The actor, who found fame as feared drug dealer Russell 'Stringer' Bell in the cult HBO series, joined club CEO David Beckham in the stands as they beat Eastern Conference rivals Atlanta United 2-1. Spanish winger Jodi Alba proved to be the difference on Saturday evening, with his 60th minute strike giving Inter Miami another victory after Atlanta's Saba Lobzhanidze cancelled a an early goal from Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Lined as one of the most affluent and elegant estates in the region, North Bay Road has been home to many past and present celebrities including the Bee Gees, Matt Damon, 54, Jennifer Lopez, 55, and Miami Heat champions Dwyane Wade, 42, and Chris Bosh, 40.
