Dave Hughes set to 'take over the Triple M Melbourne breakfast shift' alongside Kate Langbroek after his Hughesy, Ed & Erin show was axed

Dave Hughes may be headed to Triple M Melbourne to take over the breakfast shift after the Hughesy, Ed & Erin breakfast show came to an end amid spiralling ratings.

According to News.com.au, 2Day FM bosses had been pressuring the radio star to relocate to the Harbour City but his wife Holly had become frustrated with his commute and wanted him to spend more time in Melbourne. Insiders have suggested Hughes told executives at Southern Cross Austereo (the network that owns 2Day FM) that he would not be moving and therefore couldn't agree to another year on the breakfast show. 'We are incredibly thankful to Hughesy, Ed and Erin for their unwavering dedication in making the 2DayFM Breakfast show a fun way to wake up Sydney each morning since 2020, and we wish them the very best with the continuation of their outstanding careers,' said SCA Chief Content Officer, Dave Cameron.
