Dave Bautista Says ‘Drax Is Over’ but ‘I’m Not Done’ With Superhero Movies: I Want the ‘Opportunity’ to Do a ‘Bigger’ and ‘Deeper Role … an Ominous Villain’


Dave Bautista wants the opportunity to play a bigger, deeper character in a superhero movie. Maybe an "ominous villain."

Speaking to Gizmodo on the press tour for “Dune: Part Two,” the actor said he’s still interested in superhero movies and has even let Marvel boss Kevin Feige know. Bautista made headlines last year when he told GQ magazine that it was a “relief” that his time playing Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was over. He said on “The Tonight Show” last year that his “Guardians” director James Gunn had crafted such a “perfect exit” for his Drax that coming back to Marvel as him would “tarnish” the character.
