Danny Burstein Set For Broadway’s ‘Gypsy’ Opposite Audra McDonald
Tony winner Danny Burstein will play Herbie to Audra McDonald's Rose in the upcoming Broadway revival of Gypsy, producers announced today.
A veteran of no fewer than 19 Broadway productions, including his Tony Award-winning performance as Harold Zidler in Moulin Rouge, Burstein is the first cast member besides the previously announced McDonald to be revealed for the much-anticipated musical revival. In addition to Moulin Rouge!, Burstein’s Broadway credits include Pictures From Home, My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Follies, The Drowsy Chaperone, Titanic and numerous others. Brown ( Hell’s Kitchen, Choir Boy) will choreograph, with music direction and supervision by Andy Einhorn, and additional orchestrations and arrangements by Daryl Waters.
