Danielle Moore, lead singer with Crazy P, dies aged 52

Band members say she died in ‘sudden and tragic circumstances’ and pay tribute to ‘a life driven by love, compassion, community and music’

Musicians including JD Twitch of Optimo, Róisín Murphy and Sister Bliss paid tribute to Moore. Moore was part of an expansion of the group in 2002, alongside bassist Tim Davies and percussionist Mav Kendricks. She wrote increasingly political lyrics for the record, railing against the worship of high-profile politicians and celebrities, and advocating for grassroots, community work, investment in the public sector and taxing billionaires and “people who have ravaged this country”.
