Dancing On Ice head coach Karen Barber breaks down in tears after Greg Rutherford is forced to QUIT the show hours before live final due to a major injury


The Dancing On Ice head coach was overcome with emotion during Sunday night's final after Greg Rutherford was forced to quit the skating competition just hours before the show.

The Olympian, 37, was set to battle it all out against Ryan Thomas, Adele Roberts and Miles Nazaire for the trophy, yet his hopes of taking part were shattered after he sustained a 'significant' injury on the morning of rehearsals. And as hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern played a tribute to Greg and gave an update to his condition, Karen broke down as she struggled to contain her tears live on air. An ITV spokesperson added in a statement to MailOnline: 'Sadly Olympian Greg Rutherford MBE has had to withdraw from Dancing On Ice after sustaining an injury whilst in rehearsals for the final episode of the current series.
