Netflix has ordered comedy series co-created by and starring Dan Levy. It also stars Taylor Ortega and Laurie Metcalf. Here is the twisty back story.
For Sennott, the project was in second position to her HBO comedy which was picked up to pilot and eventually to series last fall, ruling her out of starring in the Dan Levy show. The move came after weeks of frustration over the series’ creative direction, including finding the balance between comedy and crime, with some writers leaving before the remaining ones were let go, I hear. Sources close to Levy insisted that he treated his writers with respect but, after having troubles creatively cracking the code of the series, he opted to shut down the room he felt never got a rhythm and regroup.
