A 'Whiplash' re-release, in celebration of the Damien Chazelle film's 10th Anniversary, has been planned for September by Sony Pictures Classics.
Whiplash, the Oscar-winning psychological drama marking the breakout project of writer-director Damien Chazelle, is coming back to theaters nationwide in celebration of its 10th anniversary, Sony Pictures Classics announced today. Inspired by Chazelle’s 2013 short of the same name, Whiplash follows Andrew Neyman (Teller), an ambitious young jazz drummer, single-minded in his pursuit to rise to the top of his elite east coast music conservatory. But Andrew’s passion to achieve perfection soon spirals into obsession, as his ruthless teacher continues to push him to the brink of both his ability and his sanity.
