Cynthia Erivo, Mickalene Thomas and Muna to Be Honored by Los Angeles LGBT Center (EXCLUSIVE)
The Los Angeles LGBT Center announced Cynthia Erivo, Mickalene Thomas and Muna will be honored at its annual gala in May.
The annual benefit, taking place at the Shrine Auditorium, is held to celebrate LGBTQ+ voices as well as to raise crucial funds for community services. Erivo, a Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated actress, singer, songwriter and producer, will be honored with the Schrader Award for her achievements in entertainment and activism within the LGBTQ+ community. Thomas, a prominent visual effects artist, will receive the Vanguard Award for her advocacy and commitment to intersecting complexities of black and female identity within the Western canon.
