Cyndi Lauper signs deal with virtual avatar company behind ABBA Voyage for in-person live shows: 'I can't wait to participate in this new stage in my musical evolution'
The pop icon, 70, has signed a deal with the avatar company behind Abba Voyage as she prepares to embark on a new project that will 'ensure' and 'maintain' her legacy.
The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hitmaker signed off the agreement with Pophouse Entertainment Group, which uses virtual avatars and iconic visuals for in-person gigs. An Elvis Presley hologram concert experience is planned to be in London later this year - through a creative use of AI to bring the star to life from thousands of his personal photos and home-video footage. U2 are among the bands to join the latest trend, as they stunned viewers with cutting-edge digital effects during their live gig at Las Vegas' Sphere (pictured U2 performing in September 2023)
