News broke on Monday, June 3, that Lauper, 70, is embarking on a 23-city farewell tour this fall, marking her first major string of performances in more than a decade, per a press release by LiveNation. “It’s official!” read the caption of an Instagram post shared by LiveNation on Monday alongside a throwback clip of Lauper performing on the Tonight Show With Johnny Carson as well as other notable moments in her career. “The announcement of her farewell tour arrives alongside LET THE CANARY SING, a feature-length documentary film that explores Lauper’s extraordinary life and career,” the release stated.
