Crazy Town Frontman Shifty Shellshock’s Sudden Death Linked to Fentanyl

Crazy Town's lead singer Shifty Shellshock died last June from an accidental overdose linked to the synthetic opioid fentanyl, officials revealed.

In a statement released Tuesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed that the official cause of death for the singer-songwriter born Seth Brooks Binzer was the combined effects of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine. Crazy Town received success relatively quickly, with their 1999 debut album, The Gift of the Game, scoring a Number One single with “Butterfly.” The song features a sample of the band’s one-time tour mates, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. County officials said Tuesday that Binzer’s full autopsy report with more details of his tragic death is expected to be released by Oct. 11.
