Coronation Street fans believe an iconic character is set to make a return next week as Roy Cropper is rushed to hospital after collapsing in shocking scenes of the ITV soap
In scenes set to air next week, Roy Cropper (played by David Neilson) leaves the cafe to deliver some homemade soup to Shona Platt (portrayed by Julia Goulding), only to be accosted by a group of hooligans. Carla Connor (Alison King) rushes to his side, but it's evident he's in pain.As an ambulance arrives, Shona is recounting the incident to Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), reports the Express. Actress Julie Hesmondhalgh, who portrayed Hayley for 16 years on the ITV soap, retired her character's iconic red anorak a decade ago.
