Coronation Street's Roy Cropper is about to see things get even worse for him as his murder trial takes an even more sinister twist that leaves him fearing for his life

The beloved character, played by David Neilson, has been wrongly accused of teengaer Lauren Bolton's murder and is currently languishing in a police cell, but a bail application scene in tonight's episode will reveal that things could be even worse for the cafe owner. Joel is horrified to find that she appears to have received some email death threats, but Dee-Dee then explains that their real target is Roy - which could leave his life in danger even if he does get out of prison. Earlier this week, actor David appeared on This Morning where he admitted he was surprised this was the first time Roy had face prison as so many of Corrie's characters have found themselves behind bars at some point.
