Coronation Street's Gail Platt's exit storyline 'revealed' – and it includes legendary character
fans were left gutted when Helen Worth announced her departure as Gail Platt from the cobbles after 50 years earlier this year, and now it looks like her exit storyline has been ‘revealed’. According to The Sun, Gail will rekindle her romance with Martin Platt and sail off into the sunset.
“A number of options were considered for Gail’s departure from the cobbles but bosses knew the moment needed to truly celebrate one of Corrie’s most iconic characters as well as honour Helen’s astonishing run on the soap,” an insider told the publication. “Martin was always considered the one that got away and bosses are thrilled they’ve been able to tempt Sean back to wave Gail goodbye,” the source continued. Helen's final scenes are set to air later this year (Image: ITV)After his exit in 2005, Sean reprised his role in 2018 for a couple of episodes to say goodbye before emigrating to New Zealand.
