Coronation Street's Bill Fellows - who plays Stu Carpenter on the ITV soap - has reportedly quit after three years and is set to join the cast of BBC's new comedy Smoggie Queens

Bill is best known for his role as Stu Carpenter on Corrie, the formerly homeless chef who was wrongfully imprisoned and later found love with Yasmeen Nazir on the cobblesStu's wife Lucy, who helped frame him for the murder, left him after he confessed to the crime and cut him off from his daughter Bridget. It is yet to be revealed how exactly Stu will depart the cobbles, though it’s possible that his exit will be tied to Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan), the bully who terrorised Street teen Liam earlier this year. Bill arrived in Corrie fresh from his success as George in international hit Ted Lasso, a role played until the Apple TV series ended.
